Looking for some fun with your family? Here’s a great suggestion for a half hour or more of fun.

You can make homemade, non-toxic play-dough with three easy ingredients! We made a small batch, but you can double or triple the quantities to make more.

Ingredients: 2 parts salt / 2 parts water/ 1 part flour. We used 1 cup of salt, 1 cup of water and 1/2 cup of flour.

Mix all ingredients over medium heat in a saucepan, stirring frequently with a whisk until a clump of dough is formed. This transformation of ingredients can be a fascinating experience to witness for your child or grandchild.

Remove from heat and cool on a plate. We sprinkled flour on the plate or surface when playing to remove any stickiness.

Let your imagination run wild and have fun!!

It was snowy out so we decide to make Frosty the Snowman and pretend to bake cookies.

To keep the play dough for up to six months, add 1 tablespoon cream of tarter and 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil to the amount above. You can also make all natural coloring dye! Mix paprika for orange, turmeric for yellow, frozen blueberries water for blue. Boil a slice or two of beet for a pinkish/red shade!
